Easter

I can not believe that Lainey is already 11 months old. I remember last summer thinking that this year we had together was going to last forever, that time would slow done. Everyday fly's by and we do enjoy our days together I just can't rap my mind around how big she is getting.
I think there is something really special about your first child. There is this time that is just you and them, you will never have this time back and you can never experience it with any of your other children, it makes it so special. I might think differently once we have more children.
We are trying to teach Lainey that her crib is cool! She plays in it now and does sleep better most of the time. I am saying that after a long night and as a very mad starbucks customer. (note: how do you know that it is really decaf?)
 I love babies in white.
On easter we took her to the aquarium. We all have seasons passes. She is really starting to love it. She enjoyed the beluga show so much. Makes my want to sing "baby beluga in the deep blue sea", I love Raffe!

All I can say is WOW!!! This world has so many beautiful creatures. (I am talking about the jellyfish, although Lainey and Trevor are beautiful:))

Look what we got from the gift shop! hehehe

She loved the bunny, she kept poking the eyes and nose.

Lainey, "Mom don't leave me here"

This little one loves being read too. She goes and gets books and brings them to us. It is awesome. She loves pop-up-books, although she has ruined most of them, they are her favourite. I figure better to use them then to store them looking pretty.
She thinks it is so funny when people cough or sneeze, she will mimic it back. She loves to eat everything, her favourite being paper. She is starting to furniture surf more. And I have caught her standing on her own a couple of times. She is happy almost all the time now. She sleeps worse then a newborn, but at least smiles in the middle of the night. And most of all she loves her mama:)

On a side note I saw Water for Elephants last night and it was so good. I see a lot of movies but both my friend and I agreed it is the best one we had seen in a long time. Go see it!

Handmade Easter

Probably the only good thing about living far away from family, is that we receive presents in the mail! This week we received two presents for easter. I can not believe the talent of my family members. I have a whole new appreciation for handmade gifts after I started quilting.

Aunt Julie made the most beautiful basket of eggs. And some of the eggs rattle. She really confused Lainey, she shakes them and if they don't make noise she looks at it and try's again. lol I just pass her one that does and she laughs.
She looks drunk here, (she's not:)) she sure enjoyed playing with them today.
Grandma made gorgeous little knit animals. I put them in her crib and she seems to really like them. My favourite is the bunny, the detail on it is incredible.
 Lainey playing with them.
An easter dress and shrug. Grandma made the shrug, it is so soft. I think she is going to wear it when we go visit the easter bunny on saturday.
And a hat from grandma. It fits perfect with room to grow. It is also a good shot of her teeth coming in.
I took a scrap of ribbon and tied it in Lainey's hair today, love stuff in her hair. I have bought her few things and it is very addicting. The good thing is that she leaves it in:)
 Love that giggle.
Sporty Lainey. Yesterday I had no time to shower so I sported a headband and she wanted one too:) I think she looks pretty cute, love how her ear flips.
Look at those eyes, so big, so blue.
Thank you for all your wonderful gifts, we love you guys!!!! And miss you so much.
I hope everyone has a wonderful easter with there families.

Clutch

Finally I have made myself a small clutch! I made my sister one 2 years ago when she was visiting me and ever since I have wanted to make one. I found this pattern on the Spotted Stone blog and loved it right away. I love the material she choose and when I started making these a few days ago I did not have such material. I do now!!! I went to JoAnnes this weekend and got the new DS Quilts line of fabric. I will admit I have more material then I think I can ever use, but it is all so pretty I just can't stop:)
Here are the two bags I made. One is a clutch and the other is a small pouch. I think the clutch is perfect for an on the go diaper bag. I also think this makes a great mothers day gift.....do you mom? I think next time I will put a small pocket for cards/cash. Other than that the pattern was so clear and lots of fun to make. Next I am going to try a tote.

And of course some more pictures of my little girl.
The way she is sitting makes me feel like she is no longer a baby. When do they become a child and not a baby?
She loves this bear, I have tried to switch it for another lovely because it does have beans in it but she will have none of that. I have made sure that it is safe and will not rip.
 Ahhhh what a sweet face!

Weekend away.

What a relaxing weekend away, too bad all the same troubles/worries are still here when we got back. Above are the new spring bibs I made for Lainey. I decided late friday night, right before we went away, that she really needed new bibs. Her old ones were getting too dirty and they are too small. I love the fabric, so springy! I have had the fabric for a few years and never used it!
Don't they look cute on her! She makes such a mess when she eats. She likes to make sure that we are eating the same thing. She looks back and forth between her tray and our plate before she begins to eat.
Lainey, "Seriously mom? You are so lame!"
Lainey, "Alright fine! Just one photo though."
lol this photo kills me!
Another BC Ferry passing us. This happened on the way there and on the way back, what gives?

 She loves this ball.
Mornings at the cabin where amazing. We made a fire, had coffee, read and relaxed. I wish every day started like that.
Story time with Sarah! Lainey just loves Sarah and Chris. If they were on the floor she was over climbing all over them. Such a cute picture.
This is Lainey fighting sleep. She is obviously tired!
We went for a drive/walk and ended up at this look out. It was really stormy but when the clouds cleared, for 2 seconds, we took some photos.

I love how Lainey is looking up at Trevor in this picture!

Both the girls so fascinated with Indie.

This was what our drive looked like on the way to the lookout.
Our weekend was so relaxing and it was some much needed time away. We really want to do this again this summer, maybe a different island next time.
